This Temple is Situated in Murugam Palayam near kodumudi at Erode. We can't able to collect history of this temple, the collected information from the village peoples about this temple is entirely rumor. It destroyed before 60 years .No one show their interest to save this temple.The statues inside the temples are damaged and destroyed .If the same status continued for future years , we will not see the evidence of this temple here. The temple land was occupied by private it seems. If Possible we need to save this temple.

This is the 61st Lord Shiva temple on the southern bank of Cauvery praised in Thevaram hymns . This temple is praised by Tirugnanasambandar, Tirunavukkarasar and Sundarar.  Sun light  fall on the Lord in the months of September-October and March-April. There are two Ambicas in the temple one is visalaatchi and Neelnaedunganaayagi . Vinayaka in this temple is praised as  Vasantha Vinayaka.  The temple has five prakaras-corridors.  There are seven sacred springs in the temple – Visalakshi, Yaman, Kalyana, Agni, Deva, Appar and Maniankarunai.  Vinayaka in the prakara with Lord Shiva and Lord Perumal Senthamarai Kannan and Lord Dakshinamurthy with Nandhi below Him are the special in this temple .Sacred tree of the temple is Banana Tree.  Those facing delays in their marriage pray here with remedial pujas and tie a mangal sutra for early results.Which give high response in their prayer After Lord Shiva hit Yama the God of Death at Tirukadayur, no deaths occurred in the world thus increasing the birth and it cause burden on earth to unmanageable level.  Mother Earth requested to Lord Shiva of her pain of bearing unbearable weight.  On a Thai Poosam day- Poosam star day during January-February, Lord Shiva made Yama appear under His feet as a child, instructed him to discharge his duties with impeccable sense of Dharma and reinstated him in the job.  The Yama shrine in the prakara of the temple represents this event.  Lord Shiva and Mother Ambica with Lord Muruga in Somaskanda form are in this shrine with Yama as a child under Their feet.

SomaLingaSwami Temple

SomaLingaSwami Temple
This Temple is 500 years Old,situated in somalingapuram near Kannivaadi at Dindigul.
There is no Goddess or other sub-deities in the temple.Lord Vinayaka present under Neem and Vilwa trees with Nandhi  before Him.The temple is situated at the foot hill of Harikesha Parvatham. The shape of the hill is look like the divine snake Adishesha is holding an umbrella and it also looks like a Shivalinga.
People pray for relief from the follow-ups of the bad effects of the past birth karmaas,  removal of obstacle in marriage  and women pray for the safety of their mangal sutras(thaali) and longevity of husbands.

Behind the Somalingaswami temple shrine is the cave where Saint Meikandar performed penance(thavam)  It is a natural formation.  Devotees worshiped here to realize mental control and the blessings of the Siddhas.  There are some other caves in different parts of hill where other three Siddhas lived performed penance.Great Siddhas, Meikandar, Kundalini Siddha, Vazhayanandar, Mukthanandar and others gathered here to perform penance seeking Lord Shiva’s darshan.  They installed a Shivalinga here. 



 


 

Malai Kovilur Siva Temple

Once upon a Time it was very Popular Temple situated in Malaikovilur , which is very close to Karur -Madurai Byepass Road. It is nearly 16 KM far from karur.lot of Inscription are present in this temple which is in  unreadable condition. We can't able to know the temple history exactly,no one knows about this clearly.
But the temple has its own beautiful architecture with 5 feet siva lingam , 2 beautiful nandhi statues , Vinayaga ,Lord Muruga ,Kala bairava ,Thakshanaamoorthi and Amman Statues are Here.
One time pooja is going on in this temple as per government norms.Due to presence of this temple, this place gained the  name Malaikovilur.

Sad Thing about this temple.
1)Before 5 years they start work to renovate,now the progress of renovating is stopped with out any reason
2)It doesnot having the path to enter the temple, Its Very hard to enter in it.
3)No Proper maintenance
4)Incomplete Renovation Process

Sathuragiri Temple

Sathuragiri Hills  is situated 10 km from Watrapu near Srivilliputhur. The name Sathuragiri came from Chathur (4) Veda (Vedas) Giri (Hill). other meaning is that the whole mountain is in square in shape . It is otherwise also called as Mahalingam Hill(Sundra Mahalingam Hill). This is also called as "Siddas boomi". 18 Siddhas were used to live here, another god calls santhana mahalingam...3 km from sunthara  mahalingam statue in forest. To reach Sathuragiri, pilgrims will have to reach Thaanipaarai via Vathrairuppu threw share auto or mini bus.  The nearest Railway Station is located at Srivilliputhur. Madurai and Tenkasi are the other railway stations located close to Sathuragiri. Pilgrims travelling by air will have to reach Madurai, Tamilnadu and continue their travel by road.
